use | organic synthesis intermediate. Used as an acid protecting group; introduce benzoic acid group and hydroxymethyl group |
production method | is obtained by reacting benzyl alcohol, formaldehyde and hydrogen chloride together. First mix benzyl alcohol and formaldehyde solution, cool to 5 ℃, pass in hydrogen chloride to saturate the reaction liquid, and then continue to pass in hydrogen chloride at 10 ℃. The reactants are layered, the upper solution is dried with anhydrous calcium chloride, and the hydrogen chloride is removed under reduced pressure. Then distillation under reduced pressure, collect 96-99 degrees C (1.47kPa) fraction, to obtain the product. |
